That's really discouraging. I have no sound on a Dell Inspiron 1300. Compiling the new Alsa stuff didn't do any good, and I downgraded to Feisty before ricolai posted his suggestion. I need a fix I can be sure will work before taking the risk of upgrading and having no sound again.
