Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.22

I am running Kubuntu Gutsy on an Asus F3Jc laptop. The provided kernel
2.6.22-13-generic comes with 2 releases of the same Asus ACPI driver (see
http://acpi4asus.sf.net web page for more info) :
- Release 0.30 is named asus_acpi.ko and doesn't support F3Jc model (error
"model F3Jc not supported" in dmesg)
- Release 0.42 is named asus-laptop.ko and supports this model
By default, the kernel auto loads the old one. As a consequence it doen't work.

My temporary solution: blacklist kernel module "asus_acpi" and force it
to load "asus-laptop".

Moreover, I don't know it it's related or not. Some function keys (Fn+F3
for mail, Fn+F9 for touchpad) work, but others like Fn+F5/F6 for
brightness, Fn F11/F12 for sound volume don't. They worked better with
Feisty+module asus-laptop 0.41 than Gutsy+module asus-laptop 0.42.

** Affects: linux-source-2.6.22 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
