I suggest get rid off xsane, simple-scan and gscan2pdf using sudo apt purge xsane etc.
Scanimage does a good job. Use sane-find-scanner to find the scanner. Use scanimage -L to find what make the scanner is. Use scanimage -A to find which parameters go with the scanner you have. Use SANE_DEBUG_DLL=5 scanimage -L to do a bit of debugging, if needed. Somehow simple-scan works on some other machines with Ubuntu 16.04. ** Attachment added: "This attachment gives the output for the commands given above." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1587853/+attachment/4688227/+files/scanner.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1587853 Title: Canon Lide 110 scanner does not work with xsane, simple scan, gscan2pdf but works with vuescan To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1587853/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
