Same bug here. The bug is present on both Xubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu LiveUSB 16.04 (was OK on both Xubuntu/Ubuntu 14.04). Workaround for Xubuntu: Ctrl+Alt+Backspace kills the X server (does not work on Ubuntu).
