I have the same problem as Antoine in DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu DISTRIB_RELEASE=16.04 DISTRIB_CODENAME=xenial DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 16.04 LTS"
Hope someone finds a solution for it. I use service lightdm restart as work around...
