** Description changed:

Using multiple machines that have both Windows and Ubuntu installed,
whenever I am working in Ubuntu, webpages take much longer to load. On
average it takes about 7-10 seconds just to load google (when cache is
cleared), some pages simply time out. This is the case with all of my
Ubuntu installs, and when I boot them into Windows the connection is
perfectly fast. I've tried setting the ethernet cards to half/full
duplex and changing the router configuration, but to no avail; I have
also tried various browsers. This problem seemed to occur starting in
Dapper and is now also an issue in Edgy. My connection is 9Mb/s down,
so I highly doubt it's the connection (especially since it works fine in
Windows). Typically, I will enter a URL and the page will attempt to
load for about 10 seconds, then most of the page will appear, with some
- content (pictures, etc) continuing to load.
+ content (pictures, etc) continuing to load. This slow connection speed
+ is also preventing me from installing Ubuntu on client machines for
+ obvious reasons.
