Also affects 16.04 #45 no more solution (at least, to me) - same failure as installing directly from Ubuntu repo. Workaround: 1) Download .exe from sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/corefonts/files/the%20fonts/final/)
2) Purge & reinstall ttf-mscorefonts-installer (let it fail) 3) dpkg-reconfigure ttf-mscorefonts-installer 4) The command line will prompt for an optional path where the fonts have already been downloaded - if any.
