I have two different crashes. One of these was recoverable, and one of
these was not (reboot required). I will note which is which where I can.

Note that I'm not 100% sure of this data and will try to capture it at
the time it happens next time, but I'm working from memory on what
happened in the unrecoverable case (and what action I took afterwards
that may be reflected in the messages).

Note this first case is NOT the common case and the one that I am
referring to. The second case is the reason I joined on to this bug
(unrecoverable).
