Public bug reported: With Ubuntu 16.04, there is no video output and switching to another tty does not work either. The monitor shows a "no video input" message, the screen is black. This seems to happen with kernel >= 4.4.2. The current Ubuntu live system (ubuntu-16.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso) was used for testing.
It works with Ubuntu 15.10 (kernel 4.2). An identical bug was filed against Fedora more than 4 months ago, but there is no progress: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1314492 # lspci | grep -i vga 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 06) ** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-346 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1609436 Title: Black screen and no tty with Ubuntu 16.04.1 (kernel >= 4.4.2) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-346/+bug/1609436/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
