I don't believe that this is fixed - though the nicknaming that is used
for different Ubuntu components (Gnome, Nautilus, Nemo, ...) is
unintelligible to a non-techie like me.

I have just tried to move from 12.04 to 16.04 and can't because the "Files" 
application
(About shows: "Files 3.14.3" whereas in 12.04 it shows "Nautilus 3.4.2") has 
neither the "Browse Network" nor "File System" options.

See attached screen-shot (I would attach the one from 12.04 if this
website let me add a 2nd file)
