@Vincas: your issue looks similar to bug #1506953 (fixed in OTA-13) so looks like media-hub is crashed for you, do you have any crash log in /var/crash?
@Anupam: thank you for your answers, I don't think this is a role volume issue anymore, can you check if you have the same "Failed to get current playback position" error as reported by Vincas in your ~/.cache/upstart/unity8.log file?
