With OOo 2.3 you can open a document on a smb share with konqueror. But you can not open a document on a smb share from the kfiledialog in OOo.
So here is the small patch to make it works. Just override ooo-build/patches/src680/fpicker-kde-partial-kio.diff with the attached file. This patch add the string smb at line 146 of the diff.
