Public bug reported: The current version of mpc123 for PowerPC doesn't work properly. Whatever options are passed to it are seemingly ignored, meaning that no files can be played. I found a trivial patch for it at http://www.mail- archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/msg104193.html
I downloaded the source for the "latest development version" of mpc123 following instructions on http://mpc123.sourceforge.net/dl.php and applied the patch. This appears to fix the issue. The bug doesn't seem to affect the Ubuntu x86 release of mpc123, which plays back fine without modification.
