I opened this bug 5 months ago; in the meantime I have moved to Debian and left Ubuntu for good.
Maybe the conflicts were solved with a later package update, but back when I first installed ubuntu 16.04, it did not work; I needed to have runtime libraries for both 64 and 32 bit plus dev packages for 32 bit only. It did not work and I could not wait days or weeks to have it fixed. It was the proverbial straw and I moved away from Ubuntu.
