I have a Toshiba a105-s171 with the same issue. its like my hard drive goes to spin down every 10 seconds and then comes back up again. this causes the machine to act jerky. I think a configurable power management control panel would be great. this way we can choose when the drive goes down or how to throttle the cpu etc
