Hi. I use this package a lot and find it super useful. It do not work with all DVDs, but most of the ones I have tested. The problem you report about failing DVDs with overlap in the data structures is reported to Debian as https://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=818117 . It only affect a minority of my DVD collection.
