I've come up with a workaround to this bug. After having searched for whatever it is you are searching for, search for something that is unlikely to be found in there. For instance, searching for :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: or """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" is highly unlikely to return any results and the highlighting goes away.
Hope this helps until a proper bugfix. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/28555 Title: Searched text remains highlighted even after search window has been closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/28555/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
