If this is still occurring with the latest desktop CD images (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/xubuntu/daily-live/current/), can you please run the installer with --debug from a terminal window (`ubiquity --debug`), and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug after waiting a few minutes for the window to appear?
