If possible, please test again using the latest CD images (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/), running ubiquity with the --debug option (`ubiquity --debug` in a terminal). I believe the problem is fixed, but if you run into any issues, please update this bug report, attaching /var/log/syslog and /var/log/installer/debug from the live CD after the installer crashes.
