You make call me any way you want but in fact, it worked in both 14.04 and 16.04, otherwise I would not write such thing. It may not work for you, though, if your cursor theme does not support "waiting" cursor, but openbox package properly rebuilt with libxcursor-dev as a build dependency supports startup notification. dixi
