Thanks for this additional feedback and testing! Everybody who still sees the problem, please check that you have 1:0.6.0+git20071008-0ubuntu1 of compiz-core installed (this version unfortunately did not make it on the -rc CD) . I have not tested the fix under kde (only gnome), if that is still a problem there, please let us know.
