according to our IRC talk it seems that clearing out the old libs got it 
resolved on the second try.
Yet it all feels a bit messy as:
- it didn't work on the first try
- we still don't know how it happened to be around in the first place

Yet I'd like to invite all reporters of duplicate bugs to try the
cleanup-to-update solution as well.
