Hi Christopher, How can I assist further with this? A lot of the original attachments my system uploaded via the bug panel have been deleted from this report.
Just so you know the only way you can get the system to boot to being usable is via nomodeset which I believe won't load the AMDGPU driver at all (assuming this is valid with ubuntu as well https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AMDGPU) I have cross posted this in the freedesktop bugzilla as well as I don't believe this is an ubuntu specific bug. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97605 I have also tried with 16.10 recently but get the same results as 16.04 so it doesn't seem to be fixed in the later kernel :( Regards James ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #97605 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=97605 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1597079 Title: AMDGPU Black Screen when Booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/+bug/1597079/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
