I can reproduce the bug with aplay (and rhythmbox) using Loïc's instructions to convert affected .ogg file to 32-bit .wav. 16-bit .wav file doesn't expose the bug. The .ogg file is from upstream bug report (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=87621).
I guess bug now seems to be in alsa somewhere. My alsa driver is snd_emu10k1. (btw.
