I can confirm this error. Writer appeared windowed, calc covered the whole screen. Also "Save your changes" dialog is full screen for me.
I switched back to kwin (ALT+F2, kwin --replace) then openeded openoffice calc. It was full screen. I unmaximized it, then turned on the compiz again (ALT+F2, compiz --replace). This helped me to have window decoration on openoffice calc.
