I used the instructions on: https://askubuntu.com/questions/34888/is-there-any-way-to-roll-back-the-most-recent-upgrade
except for the first command, it seemed unnecessary complex, so used "tail -n100 /var/log/apt/history.log" instead. (this give the last 200 lines of the apt install history) In there i found the probelmatic upgrade: Start-Date: 2016-11-03 19:54:15 Commandline: apt-get upgrade Upgrade: kpartx:amd64 (0.4.9-3ubuntu7.14, 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.15), libcuda1-304:amd64 (304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2), nvidia-304:amd64 (304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2), nvidia-libopencl1-304:amd64 (304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2), curl:amd64 (7.35.0-1ubuntu2.9, 7.35.0-1ubuntu2.10), nvidia-opencl-icd-304:amd64 (304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2), libcurl3-nss:amd64 (7.35.0-1ubuntu2.9, 7.35.0-1ubuntu2.10), nvidia-current:amd64 (304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2), libcurl3:amd64 (7.35.0-1ubuntu2.9, 7.35.0-1ubuntu2.10), kpartx-boot:amd64 (0.4.9-3ubuntu7.14, 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.15), libcurl3-gnutls:amd64 (7.35.0-1ubuntu2.9, 7.35.0-1ubuntu2.10) End-Date: 2016-11-03 19:55:36 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1639051 Title: gnome3 has black screen after upgrade: 304.131-0ubuntu0.14.04.2, 304.132-0ubuntu0.14.04.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1639051/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
