Public bug reported: I also asked a question on the ubuntu forum: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2342734
I use Kubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, exfat-utils 1.2.3-1 and fuse-exfat 1.2.3-1 The SD card is an exfat formatted SanDisk Extreme 64GB SDXC card I can look at the jpg's on the card using Gwenview and browse the card using Nautilus. However, when I try to copy some jpg's (be it 8 files or 500) from the SD card to my HDD using Nautilus or Konqueror or ... some of the jpg's get corrupted. They become incomplete. The strange thing is that their size in MB is correctly displayed. But the thumbnail of a corrupted jpg is partly gray, always the lower part. Sometimes a fraction is grayed, another time almost everything. Creating thumbnails in Nautilus takes like forever and trying to look at a jpg in Gwenview turns the program to an almost complete standstill. Copying files from the fat32 formatted 8GB SDHC card in my old camera is instantaneous and without any problem. Copying the files from the 64GB SDXC to an USB connected HDD using windows 7 is swift and without anything going wrong. ** Affects: fuse-exfat (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: copying exfat jpg sdxc -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1640934 Title: copying jpg from exfat SD to ext4 HDD corrupts some jpg To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fuse-exfat/+bug/1640934/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
