Uhhh... ok, I was afraid my webcam is broken.... I can confirm, only a grey picture in edgy.
Until edgy it stopped working, now I know the reason. It's always frustrating if something worked in a previous Ubuntu version and crushed in the new Ubuntu version. Even you can't Ubuntu blaim for this.
