This is affecting me.

Decided to give Ubuntu 16.04 a try and I cannot for the life of me get
Optical or the green, black and orange/brown cables working either (The
3.5mm jacks).

Audio works in windows fine, I did the echo "options snd-hda-intel
position_fix=1" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf fix and it
worked for a day, when I restarted from windows to Linux it broke again.

Everything shows up. It should be working but sound does not play at
all.

HDMI Audio works fine via my monitor.

Motherboard: Gigabyte Gaming 7 Z170
Card: HDA Intel PCH
Chip: Creative CA0132

If I can do anything to help please let me know. I can't switch over
from windows if I don't have audio.
