According to your xorg.conf you are still using the old i810 driver. Please change the line Driver "i810" to Driver "intel" under Gutsy in your xorg.conf. After a restart your external monitor should work and you can dis/enable it with xrandr. This driver is used by default in Gutsy so you don't have to do it everytime after a new installation of the final.
