Update: I tried the the RC Live CD today... interesting... it worked the first time perfectly... then i restarted and on the second time it dropped to busy box so i restarted and tried it without the quiet and splash options so i could see the output... other then the floppy failed message alot (why??) it's not clear where it failed...
So I tryed it again.. still failed... then I added the irqpoll option... it loaded up... although I noticed the "ubuntu sound" was stuttering differently (shorter bursts of sound)... (when it worked without any options it plays like half the sound then stops and then plays it and stops again then finishes... with irqpoll on it stutters in smaller increments... Otherwise seems to work the same... It seems it is almost solid, it just sometimes doesn't get the timing right with the harddrives/IRQ/devices etc hard to say.. and when it doesn't you have to change the kernel options... again sorry to Jason if this is a different bug to his one...
