It looks like a previous install of ttf-mscorefonts-installer failed. But reinstalling it may fail because of bug 1607535, since your version of apt is apparently < 1.2.19. Try removing it completely, updating apt packages to 1.2.19, and reinstalling it:
sudo apt-get purge ttf-mscorefonts-installer sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer If you don't want to upgrade your whole system, use "install apt- transport-https" instead of "dist-upgrade" to upgrade only specific packages.
