I can confirm this on my kubuntu Gutsy, after doing a fresh install of the beta version.
As far as I am conserned, this error is reported by kio_media_mounthelper in a popup window when I try to mount it, either by double click or via the right click : mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdb1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error after doing so, 2 lines appear in the syslog : [23231.464000] UDF-fs: No partition found (1) [23231.508000] Unable to identify CD-ROM format. which is pretty strange... as I am trying to mount an usb key.... it seems to me that the kio-thing fails to recognize the file format. mounting as root works well and everything was OK in feisty. Do you guys think this is the same problem ? As nobody spoke about kio_media_mounthelper, I am not sure... This bug is really annoying, as automounting is a really basic but useful feature. feel free to ask for any debug output. -- Gutsy - Kubuntu - USB Flash Drive does not automount https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/129581 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
