Thanks for your report. I don't know ies4linux - sounds as if it already incorporates Wine somehow, and maybe the ies4linux devs need to fix this.
Otherwise it looks as if this has to be handled by upstream directly (you already use it directly, so there's not much Ubuntu involved here anyway). Can you file a bug at http://bugs.winehq.org/ and notify this bug report here about it?
