After upgrade to Ubuntu 16.10 from 15.04 or 15.10 (I can't remember). Same here. NetworkManager does not manage my wired eth0 connection. /etc/network/interfaces and /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf exactly as in "Aron Xu (happyaron) wrote on 2017-01-26" post. Additionally my NetworkManager shows previously working bluetooth-modem connection "device not managed."
