Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
In recent versions of gnome-power-manager (recent meaning 2.20ish versions), my system (MacBook Core Duo) sometimes doesn't properly wake from suspend if I open the lid. When this happens, I hear some system noise on resume but get no video and the system is unresponsive to input. However, if I close the lid, wait a while, and then open the lid and press the Power button, I *can* wake the system from suspend. Additionally, about every other time I do successfully resume from suspend by opening the lid, I get an "Action forbidden" error message. This doesn't usually happen when I press the Power button to suspend - only when I use the lid. Any clue as to a fix here? My guess as to what is happening here is that the "lid close" events are at times handled incorrectly - in particular, I figure that when I'm having trouble resuming my system is in fact in a "suspend loop" and is trying to suspend immediately after resuming. The "Action forbidden" messages seem to go along with this explanation - it would indicate that g-p-m is receiving erroneous lid events that cause issues with resuming from suspend. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- System doesn't always resume properly on lid open https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153483 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
