Public bug reported:

ed25519 is a safe curve. And supposedly, it was unsupported in ubuntu
xenial... because the authors of gnupg disabled it in version 2.1.1.1
for encryption purposes.

could you perhaps update it to the 2.1.15 version? Because the other
curves are not secure my comparison...

I tried to make an ecc/ecc key and option 1 was missing...

so I suspect... that it is disabled for version 2.1.1.1

I don't intend to use this for anything enigmail related. I just want to
encrypt files with it.
