I am unsure of what exactly happened in your case, though?

You were doing something else and accidentally installed a firmware
package and broke your wifi?

Job for smbd.service failed because the control process exited with
error code. See "systemctl status smbd.service" and "journalctl -xe" for
details.

If you could provide the above, that would help, but I'm guessing what
happened was that your wifi was broken and samba depends on the network
connectivity?
