I am using the Crux controls, the mwm-north window decoration, standard mouse pointer, and Gartoon icons. The Crux GTK+ theme comes with the system. Why is OOo so sensitive to the theme? I changed to another custom theme that I have and it worked just fine. That makes this bug all the more critical: It isn't immediately clear that you have to have a specific theme to use OOo. In fact, that's downright asinine---the _last_ thing that should make a piece of software crash is the theme you are using. --- Mike -- Michael B. This is a fatal and + critical failure in this component of the system. I cannot verify if + this is also the case for IA32 or PPC systems, but I would suspect it + would be. The problem's symptoms are below in the original report I + made for this bug. + + Original Report: + Consistently, when I attempt to select any item from a context menu in a document in Writer or Calc, OpenOffice locks up. Apport is not catching a crash, and when I run it from a terminal, the same error is displayed (see attachment to come). The only way to close is it to force it to close by sending it a signal. This is a critical bug and can be reproduced even after removing all OpenOffice data in ${HOME}. This is on a fully up-to-date Gutsy system running on a dual-core AMD64 system. The system is running a 64-bit kernel and userland. ** Tags added: gutsy openoffice ui -- Showstopper: OOo restricts theme choices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/154224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
