My input won't really be useful but I have the same problem here with a Sony Ericsson K750i
It would connect after the cell has been turned on but the connection drops when you browse through the directories. I managed to keep the connection going for 15 minutes when I was testing some themes. I was not browsing the cell phone but I was keeping the same directory opened.
