I tried building this from source (0.5) today on a standard Gutsy install. Got gnome-core-devel, it configured OK but would not 'make' because GtkTooltips has been deprecated. I removed DGTK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED from the Makefile and then built OK.
However, it crashes almost immediately though after bringing it up (with the super key). There seems to be some nasty conflict between superswitcher managing the windows and workspaces, and either the latest gnome or (more likely) the new compiz features. I'm not well-versed in how Gnome/Metacity/Compiz all interact - I'll try disabling various features to see if that helps.
