Hi, thanks for the response. I tried this as best as I could follow the instructions. I can't figure out how to load into the Grub menu from Lubuntu, so can't test the new kernel. I tried hitting "escape," "shift" and "space" during boot, but no avail. I also tried editing the /etc/default/grub file to set GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=5.
