Thanks for reporting. I can confirm this issue. I got the same error message when attempting to build gitg via `debuild -us -uc` on Ubuntu 16.04. Like one of the replies in the original question mentions, the root cause seems to be that libgit2-glib was updated to a newer version, which is incompatible with the build requirements for this package.
All packages should be buildable, but I'm not sure if there's an easy fix for this short of backporting a newer version of gitg or path (presumably) large part of it to support a newer version of the underlying library :/ ** Tags added: ftbfs xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1699126 Title: gitg-3.17.1 fails to build in xenial To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gitg/+bug/1699126/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
