I'm open to alternative implementations, but what I do care about is hibernation--especially that it works out of the box. It's a useful feature, especially for laptops, because it uses no power, while suspend has to keep the RAM powered, resulting in a constant drain. Automatic- hibernate-on-lid-close is one of the big reasons why Apple laptops drain hardly any battery power while "asleep."
If creating a swapfile as big as the system RAM isn't desirable, should we open another bug for making sure that hibernation *somehow* works out of the box? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1699336 Title: Ubiquity in 17.04 creates a swap file that's too small for hibernation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1699336/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
