I haven't actually tried WPA, I'm using WEP and that crashes it. Other people are experiencing the same issue, I'm not sure if they are using WEP or WPA. I'll contact them and have them add their experiences to the bug posting.
Just to elaborate, the encrypted networks are still found, but crash if I try to connect after the first of the two lights light up in the connection icon in gnome.
