As mentioned in the Debian bug report, this issue was fixed in ripole
0.2.0+20081101.0215-3 which is available in Ubuntu 17.04.

Ripole now includes the binary again:
/usr/bin/ripole
/usr/share/doc/ripole/README
/usr/share/doc/ripole/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/doc/ripole/copyright
/usr/share/man/man1/ripole.1.gz
(https://packages.ubuntu.com/zesty/amd64/ripole/filelist)

I'm therefore marking this issue as fix released. If you need a fix for
the bug in previous versions of Ubuntu, please perform as much as
possible of the SRU Procedure [1] to bring the need to a developer's
attention.
