Guys and Gals, I updated to Gutsy today, and got the very same issue with ntpd.
WHY does ntpd need to rely on dhcp broadcasts or whatever??? It DOESN'T. All that it needs is a network connection via the systems eth0 (or whatever). The issue is somehow ntpd gets started before any network interface is UP and that fubars it. ntpd will find the route once it is up. Nick -- ntp is being brought up before network is ready, causing ntp to not resolve any ip or host names and it appears ntp does not recover https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/114505 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
