Notmuch upstream and Debian maintainer here. I can't duplicate this problem in Debian, with emacs24 24.5+1-11 and elpa-notmuch 0.23.7-3 (note in DpkgTerminalLog.txt the same failure occurs for emacs24 and emacs25). In particular I don't have any of the compilation warnings that are shown on Ubuntu.
Looking at one example warning, notmuch-user-emails is defined in notmuch-lib.el, which is required on line 26 of notmuch-address.el, so on the face of it that first warning doesn't make much sense, unless there is some old version of notmuch-lib.el(c) in the load path (pre notmuch 0.21, at a guess) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1693347 Title: package emacs25 25.1+1-3ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/notmuch/+bug/1693347/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
