Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I cannot open a csv file in openoffice. This has similarities with Bug #148562. Nor can I get a consistent behavior from the application, except for the final outcome of no csv file being loaded. Scenario 1 Step 1: double click on csv file (of any name): OpenOffice starts, opens "Document Recovery" screen with "Untitled1 Not yet recovered" Step 2: Click on <Start Recover> : OpenOffice declares "successfully recovered" Step 3: Click <Finish>: OpenOffice opens a spreadsheet without the data from the csv file. Scenario 2 Step1: Same as above except openoffice starts with a Document Recovery screen declaring the following documents will be recovered, and no files are listed. Step 2: Click <OK>: an empty document (not spreadsheet) opens Alternative approach: Step 1: Open OpenOffice spreadsheet from the application menu: openoffice starts fine Step 2: File::Open::Select csv file : go to Document Recovery process described above ** Affects: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- OpenOffice.org Calc crashes with certain .xls/.csv files (see Bug #148562) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/155272 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
