Public bug reported: I'm sorry Canonical but I can't provide detailed information, the system tried to update automatically and I interrupted the process after which I ran "dpkg --cinfigure -a" (I think that's what I typed) into the terminal and updating process resumed. Now when I type apt-get upgrade full I get this message: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done The following package was automatically installed and is no longer required: snap-confine Use 'apt autoremove' to remove it. The following packages have been kept back: gnome-software gnome-software-common libegl1-mesa libgbm1 libgl1-mesa-dri libinput10 libmirclient9 libwayland-egl1-mesa libxatracker2 mesa-vdpau-drivers python3-software-properties software-properties-common software-properties-gtk ubuntu-software xserver-xorg-core-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-input-evdev-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-input-synaptics-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-input-wacom-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-ati-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-fbdev-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-nouveau-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-qxl-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-radeon-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-vesa-hwe-16.04 xserver-xorg-video-vmware-hwe-16.04 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 28 not upgraded. N: Ignoring file '20auto-upgrades.ucf-old' in directory '/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/' as it has an invalid filename extension Why 28 packages aren't upgraded? I have less problems using your derivative brother "Mint", but I want to know Ubuntu as it has nice desktop (I think I'm still Unity) and as I speak I'm upgrading Ubuntu. I want to give Ubuntu the chance, but if it keeps up being so unstable then I'm sorry for dumping your work, I know that OS is not easy to make even if you have a base kernel (like true Linux is just a kernel and developers who are smart enough make an OS out of this kernel). So if possible please assist me :) My email is: explos...@hotmail.lt My phone number is: +370 654 71450 I'm looking forward to cooperate with you Canonical :) ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: udev 229-4ubuntu19 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.8.0-36.36~16.04.1-generic 4.8.11 Uname: Linux 4.8.0-36-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.10 AptdaemonVersion: 1.1.1+bzr982-0ubuntu14 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Jul 30 04:07:56 2017 DuplicateSignature: package:udev:229-4ubuntu19 Processing triggers for mime-support (3.59ubuntu1) ... dpkg: error processing package udev (--configure): package udev is already installed and configured ErrorMessage: package udev is already installed and configured InstallationDate: Installed on 2017-07-18 (11 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Release amd64 (20170215.2) MachineType: To Be Filled By O.E.M.
